The Football cons: A Sad Story of Tragedy and Triumph

The Football cons: A Sad Story of Tragedy and Triumph

Opening

Football players across the country have been competing in high school, college, and NFL games their whole lives with the dream of one day being able to play in the biggest game of all: The Super Bowl.

But what happens when that dream doesn’t come true? This book presents both sides of the coin of when football has ended: the sad moments in which former players suffered tragic injuries or death, as well as the triumphs and accomplishments achieved by former players who stayed true to their dreams through it all and lived on to fight another day.

Change Is Inevitable - How Can We Adapt?

One thing is for certain - change is inevitable. We cannot stop it, but we can adapt. Sometimes the change is something that we want to happen, like moving into a new house or going to college. Other times, the change is not what we wanted, like when our favorite football team loses the Super Bowl or a loved one dies in a car accident.

We have to learn how to cope with change if we are going to succeed in life - whether it's an upswing or downswing in fortune.

Some people find that doing things they enjoy helps them cope with difficult changes like having less money than before, while others prefer journaling their feelings about what has happened over time.

What Happens To Coaches/Fans?

And not just for the players, but for the coaches and fans. For those who have put so much time into the sport that has made them what they are today.

The game is everything to them. They live it, breathe it, sleep it, eat it--they can't imagine life without football.

And then one day all that work goes down the drain in an instant--the game is over.

What Happens To Players Who Play On?

While most players can keep playing football, many suffer from long-term effects such as chronic traumatic encephalopathy. It's often difficult for them to find a new career because their brain has been impaired by years of hard hits.

For those who choose to retire early, it is up to them whether or not they want to try and pursue a new career. Some examples of this might be coaching football or becoming a coach for another sport.

How Should We Address Concussions?

According to the Center for Disease Control, concussions are an injury to the brain that occurs when a sudden movement causes the brain to hit the skull.

Concussions can happen in any sport, but football players are at greater risk because their heads can be targeted and exposed to frequent blows during games.

This is why it’s important for coaches, parents, players, and anyone else involved with the sport to take an active role in preventing this type of injury.

A concussion typically causes temporary loss or alteration of mental functioning that may include memory problems or changes in mood or behavior. If you suspect someone has sustained a concussion – whether it’s from a fall or an impact from another player – you should get medical attention as soon as possible.

What Does This Mean For Women's Football?

Many people were surprised to learn that the NFL's decision to ban kneeling during the anthem would impact women's football as well.

Women are not allowed on the field while players are kneeling, which is a major problem for a sport that relies on female athletes to play to maintain balance with male players.

With this rule change, women will be forced off the field if they refuse to stand for the anthem. To make matters worse, these new rules could be interpreted as sexist because they encourage men to kneel at the expense of women.

The NFL needs to rethink its policy on kneeling for both men and women or risk alienating an entire demographic that has been loyal supporters in recent years.

Why Do People Still Play At All Levels?

There are many reasons people still play football at all levels. For example, football helps promote exercise, camaraderie, teamwork, and even creativity. Plus, it's a great way to make new friends. But you may be asking yourself Why do people still want to play football when it's so dangerous? One answer is that because there are so many benefits (as mentioned above), many people believe the risks are worth it. And while some disagree with this sentiment, there is no denying the positive impact playing football has on society as a whole.

Are We Ready To Move On From Our Loved Pastime?

Football has been around for over a hundred years now. It first started in 1869 when two men from English boarding schools, Anthony John Munday and William George Rudge, introduced their game to their schoolmates. Since then, it's been a sport loved by many people around the world. However, the recent NFL controversy has made people wonder if it might be time to finally end football as we know it.
